Soft German felt thick covering soft stick with 2.5mm base felt on 1.5” x ½” cork core. Formerly known as the BC1 this has become a real standard in many professional timpanists’ arsenal. Facilitates extremely loud playing without the core cutting through too much and will not distort the pitch. Perfect for the intro of New England Triptych and Shostakovich 1 cadenza.
Head size : 1.5” x ½” core
Weight: 30-35 grams (+ or -)
1" diameter wood disc with multiple felt layers and very thin soft German felt ball cover. Very bright and clean sound without being slappy and harsh. No voicing is done to this model. Warmer sound than #2, a great all around hard stick with a pretty sound.
Tonkin felt double side hard soft
50/50 covering of soft German on one side and 3mm hard German on the other with no base felt on 1.5” x 3/8” convex felt core. First stick of its kind in the industry like the BD1F Mahler 3 mallets using my double seam technique. Gives you the ability to change from clear articulation to smooth rolls in a split second. A necessity for many Sibelius Symphonies and the ending of Brahms 1. Try this model for Mozart 39 as well to get you from the transition of long soft roll to rhythm.
1" diameter wood ball with tight chamois cover. Chamois is always carefully selected for matched thickness and evenness. Warmer than #1 and still very bright and clear. Perfect for Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven and much more. Also excellent for percussion instruments and chamber music.
