The new barrel headed brass beater is another excellent new addition to our triangle beater line up. The brass barrel head is 11 mm in diameter- a unique size and shape to anything else on the market. They speak instantly on any triangle and are capable of a very wide dynamic range. Moreover, the feel is enhanced by the length 11.5 in. of the carbon fiber shafts because they are longer than any other Freer Percussion triangle beaters. All of this required some thinking outside the box that turned out to be very worthwhile. Most of us feel like we have plenty of triangle beaters in our bags sure…but in my experiences in the Cleveland Orchestra it has become obvious that other options are necessary as long as they are substantially unique and serve a musical purpose. Most mellow and round sound of them all yet still just hard enough to cut through. Perfect for exposed solo notes or even soft notes with a lot of bottom and fundamental to the pitch. One grade softer than the brown linen phenolic. Super clean and clear sound, no contact no "tick" to the sound at all. 12.5" long.
My triangle clip was designed out of necessity like all of my products. After so many years in the Cleveland Orchestra using a variety of triangle clips it became clear to me as to what would be the ideal triangle clip. I came up with my own unique custom design unlike anything else.
The TTS tam tam beater is smaller and slightly lighter than the old version. Measuring in at 16" length (406mm) with a head size of 5.12" diameter and 15.9 oz (452g) this version is now a much more versatile mallet for a wider variety of tam tam sizes and dynamics.
