Freer Percussion products are well known around the world for being the most unique and creative designs, materials and covering techniques. It’s our goals to have FP remain first in its class and a clear leader in the orchestral percussion market.
Classic signature Freer shape with slight taper in back and round ball bead. Ultra select hickory, precision matched, pitched and weighed. All around general stick perfect for anything and my daily "go to" stick in the Cleveland Orchestra. Effortless to roll with and perfect size bead to enable a super wide dynamic range.
Freer Long Bead General Hickory Signature Model Snare Drum Sticks
Classic signature Freer shape with slight taper in back and elongated oval bead. Ultra select hickory, precision matched, pitched and weighed. All around general stick perfect for anything with a slightly more legato sound due to the extended contact surface of the tip. Effortless to roll with and bead designed for those that prefer the feel and sound of an elongated bead.
The new 2012 version of the heavy orchestral stick is what I have always wanted. My classic heavy orchestral shape is now elongated and includes the taper in the back to match the length of my general and long bead general models for a fuller and fatter sound. The length and taper are the only changes to this model which was originally inspired by some vintage Charlie Wilcoxon models from the early 1950’s. Ultra select hickory, precision matched, pitched and weighed. A great stick for all loud playing such as Shostakovitch symphonies or where you just want to use a larger snare drum. Even a great choice for Bartok Concerto for Orchestra because of its more legato sound. Effortless to roll with and just heavy enough stay versatile and easy to maneuver.
The new Richard Weiner signature model was custom designed to be a classical
ball tip with no taper at the butt end. The shoulder features a very short quick taper.
As with all Freer Percussion snare drum sticks, only the highest grade hickory is
used and produced in very small batches to control quality.
The new Freer Percussion FDC1 is a slightly larger and longer stick than the heavy
orchestral model with a rounder bead and fatter taper in the shoulder. Designed for
rope drums and true fife and drum corps applications...but you just might find it to
be great for a lot of other things as well.
